|Xpress Recovery2 is designed to provide quick backup and restoration of hard disk data. Supporting Microsoft operating systems including Windows XP/2000/NT/98/Me and DOS, and file systems including FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS, Xpress Recovery2 is able to back up data on hard disks on PATA and SATA IDE controllers. After Xpress Recovery2 is executed from CD-ROM for the first time, it will stay permanent in your hard disk. If you wish to run Xpress Recovery2 later, you can simply press F9 during system bootup to enter Xpress Recovery2 without the CD-ROM. System requirements:

Drivers for Windows Vista are not available from vendors now, but will be available when Windows Vista is officially launched.|

|Since the data requires decoding, volume control can only be adjusted through decoding unit or amplifier rather than the sending device motherboard.|

|Due to the output bandwidth of SPDIF interface is 3.1Mb per second and the DTS-HD audio is able up to 28Mb per second; therefore, the DTS-HD audio only can decode to LPCM audio format by ALC889A and then output to speakers.|

|Memory||I have installed Phenom CPU and memory modules according to the Dual Channel Memory Configuration table in user’s manual, but system shows “unganged mode, 64-bit” during POST. How do I enable 128bit dual memory channel?|
|Phenom CPU have two individual memory controllers DCTs, each one of them controls single memory channel 64 bit. These two DCTs can work simultaneously when memory modules are installed on different memory channels. It is called “unganged mode”.
You can switch to “ganged mode, 128bit” when you are using two or four of the same memory modules. Please kindly enter BIOS setup program, to press CTRL+F1 key to enable advanced BIOS setup features then enter "MB Intelligent TweakerM.I.T.\ DRAM Configuration", to set the “DCTs Mode” as “Ganged”.

|ALC889A audio codec does not support DTS decoding function.
The DTS multi channel function is provided through the playback program, when using playback program that supports DTS decoding function such as Power DVD to play DVD movies, S/PDIF speaker will automatically output multi channel audio properly.
|Storage Devices||Why doesn’t the system recognize all 6 hard disks while using RAID 10 array? Instead, only 4 of them were detected.|
|RAID 10 requires to use a multiple of 4 HDDs. With recent technology and RAID 10 specification, so far it can only support up to 4 hard disk at a time while using RAID 10 array.|

|The 20-pin connector belongs to older ATX standard while 24-pin connector follows newer ATX standard. The 24-pin connector just the 20-pin cable with 4 extra wires to provide extra current. As long as your power supply can provide sufficient power to the motherboard, you can still use 20-pin power supply.

|Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has built-in PunkBuster which had been found compatibility issue with Easy Tune 6 utility. We suggest you to disable Easy Tune 6 before playing this game to prevent system crash.|

|Before installing HD audio codec driver please make sure Win XP has been updated with Service Pack. If Service Pack has not yet been installed, please try install service pack through Windows Update.
Please make sure service pack and patches are properly installed. If SP1 or SP2 has already been installed, kindly make sure that the system is not overclocked and also that onboard HD audio codec works at default settings.
Follow by inserting the driver CD's which is provided with the motherboard, when prompted with a pop-up box please select 'Xpress Install' on the top right corner to install all the necessary drivers.
If you want to manually install the HD audio drivers then you will have to firstly download the Microsoft UAA Bus driver and install it. After you restart the system please check the model of your onboard HD audio codec, and download the matching audio drivers for installation. After the mentioned procedures are done the onboard audio should work accordingly.
If SP3 has already been installed, kindly download ths latest HD audio drivers from GIGABYTE's or audio chip vender's website to install directly. PS: When installing older HD audio drivers on Win XP with SP3, system may appear a message which is about Microsoft UAA Bus driver isn't been installed yet. Please use the ths latest HD audio drivers to install.
|Driver / Software / OS||Why does the onboard HD audio driver not install successfully ?|
|Please install the audio driver again by following procedure.
1. Please make sure your Windows XP have included service pack. Please right-click the “My computer” icon on desktop. Select “Properties\ General. Please refer to picture 1 as below If your system does not include service pack, please update from Microsoft official website. Please connect to internet and launch the “Internet Explorer”, click the “Tools” on the tool bar and select the “Windows Update”.
2. Please make sure if the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” exist in “Device manager\ System devices”. Please right-click the “My computer” icon on desktop. Select “Properties\ Hardware\ Device Manager. Please refer to picture 2 as below. If the “UAA Bus Driver” does not exist, please install it from driver CD/ DVD. Please launch “My Computer”, open CD/ DVD drive\ Audio\ MSHDQFE\ Win2K_XP\ US”, to execute kb888111xpsp1.exe for SP1 system or kb888111xpsp2.exe for SP2 system. If your PC is SP3 system, please reinstall SP3.
3. If the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” is work properly, there may be an “Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus” behind “Sound, video and game controllers” or an “Unknown device” behind “Other devices”. Please disable this device. Please refer to picture 3 as below. You can skip this step if device mentioned earlier does not exist in “Device Manager”.
4. Please disable the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” as well. Please refer to picture 4 as below
5. After that, please uninstall the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio”. Please refer to picture 5 as below
6. When finish the above steps, please click the “Scan for hardware changes” button. Please refer to picture 6 as below When the “Found new hardware wizard” display, please do not click the “Next” button. Please click the “Cancel” button at this point.
7. You can now install the audio driver from driver CD/ DVD or from the driver file that you have downloaded from Gigabyte website. Please refer to picture 7 as below; the path in driver CD is \Audio \Realtek \Setup.exe
